Director of Communications
Trinity Lutheran Church is a welcoming, growing, and active community of faith near TCU in Fort Worth. About 190 people worship with us weekly at two Sunday services and a Wednesday intergenerational service. We have just completed a major building project including addition and remodeling. Our ministry includes Trinity Lutheran Children’s Center, which cares for over 100 children every day, from 6 weeks to age 5. In addition to our own ministries, we host community groups, and partner with many organizations in the city to “Make Christ Known, and Share God’s Love and Grace.”
Trinity is seeking a Director of Communication. This is a salaried position of 25 hours a week with compensation in the range of $27,000-$32,000 per year, depending on experience. The person will be in the brand new church reception office Monday through Thursday 9am-1pm, with flexibility for the remaining hours. This position will be responsible for creating and disseminating all church communication, including print and digital. She/he/they will:
-produce weekly and special bulletins, announcements, and inserts, and send occasional congregational mailings
-create and send weekly congregational emails, monitor and update the website, and maintain church social media
-monitor emails and phone calls to the church office, and communicate with pastors concerning pastoral care
-provide a welcome to those arriving at the building for appointments
-produce and update congregational calendar of events, including coordination of facilities for regular and special functions, and schedule worship servers and volunteers, including sending email reminders
-produce materials for governance committees, including agendas and Annual Reports
-work with other staff to monitor office supplies, contact and/or meet repair and maintenance workers
-attend staff meetings
Confidentiality, compassion, and healthy boundaries are a must in this position, as well as the ability to work in a mid-size, growing, church environment. 4 year Bachelor’s or 2 year Associate’s degree are preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have fluency with social media platforms, Constant Contact email system, Microsoft Office, and some graphic design.
