Mid-week Book Study Time and Location

Our mid-week bookstudy will be taking place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays.  Our new location is the T&P Tavern.  Due to the large size of the group and the hot weather, we needed a bigger indoor space for this event.

If you are interested, we are reading Rob Bell's book Love Wins.  We will plan to discuss chapters 1-2 on Wednesday the 20th of July.

See you at the Tavern!

New Personal Blog Post

Continuing my blog series on Evangelism.  Thinking about who is visiting us, most of them are Homeless Christians.  The question is, are we going to provide them a home...

Hey, anyone in Fort Worth, come on out Saturday to Trinity Lutheran 9am-1pm. Our youth will be parking and washing cars. Park your car for the Museum for $5, or get it washed while you go for just $10! Tell your friends!  On Montgomery Ave just south of Camp Bowie!

Peace Lutheran-Joplin, MO

On Sunday I spoke about Peace Lutheran in Joplin, MO which was completely destroyed by the Tornado.  Yet their faith has not been destroyed.  http://www.livinglutheran.com/blog/2011/06/god-is-and-remains-with-us.html

Endowment Team Work

Tonight I had the privilege of taking part in true faithful conversation about stewardship.  Begun in prayer, asking God to guide our decisions and discernment, our Endowment team met to discuss the management of the fund and also how to disperse the $12,000 in scholarships we have to give in 2011.  Certainly they had a challenging night before them, with many worthy candidates to consider.

Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana Mission Assembly

For those who don't know, Trinity is a part of a really BIG church that is called the ELCA.  And the ELCA is broken into 65 geographical units called "synods" or in our cases "mission territories" (emphasizing that our context is ripe for the mission of Christ's church).

Flocked

Upon returning from a fundraiser this evening for the Nelson Center (a ministry of Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest), Kendra and I encountered a strange phenomenon.  A flock of birds had decended upon us, pink large birds, covering our front lawn.

My Personal Blog

So Kendra and I are discerning how to utilize this blog on the TLC website.  We have much to say and do, thinking of how to incorporate corporate devotions, lectionaries, etc... but we haven't figured it out just yet.  However, for now, I would point you to the direction of my personal blog for the time being.  http://www.fwlutheran.blogspot.com/

Please note, this is my personal blog.  It does not represent the views of Trinity, the leadership here or anyone other than myself.  But have fun!

New Website and Blog

Hopefully we will be going live with this website in about a week or so, as such, it is time to get going on blogging on our new website.

Both Kendra and myself will be blogging here on a regular basis, sharing it on our facebook accounts and generally trying to stimulate conversation around issues related to faith, spirituality, church and living in this post-modern world that we call Fort Worth.
